Orton-Gillingham
Learning Ridge believes that all students should be given the proper support and guidance for reading during the primary years. This is the main reason why we have utilized the Orton-Gillingham Approach to help students in the Atlanta area for the last seven years. Our program provides students with Orton-Gillingham specialized instruction from ages 3 to 12. Also, our students are placed in one of eight specifically designed courses tailored to their academic goals and objectives. We only use internationally endorsed materials aligned with the scope of the learning objectives.
The Orton-Gillingham reading methodology is a collection of Multi-Sensory Techniques to guide children through the reading process from Pre-K through Elementary School.

At what point should I consider a reading assessment?
It never hurts to know where you are if you suspect a reading delay. The earlier you spot an issue and get intervention, the faster your student will be able to make progress and the less remediation you will end up needing.

What is Orton-Gillingham?
Orton-Gillingham is a multi-sensory approach to teaching basic reading and phonics. The methodologies were created by neuropsychiatrist Samuel Orton and educator/psychologist Anna Gillingham in an effort to formulate a standardized set of teaching principles for language.
Unlike other language programs, the Orton-Gillingham approach is language based, multisensory, structured, cognitive, and flexible, making it ideal for highly individualized and personalized learning solutions.
